Add Speculative MTL Calls
Russian Steelmaker a Bargain
Dear Bottarelli Research Member,
Today, I want to make a speculative trade on Russian steelmaker Mechel Open Joint Stock Company (MTL – NYSE).
There has been talk of Mr. Putnam forcing his hand on this company, but through my own research I believe the company is being overly damaged from this news. After all, MTL is doing everything Putnam wants them to do. And since they’re already pretty much owned by the government anyway, I think things will get worked out.
Therefore, I’d like to move on the MTL January 30 Calls (MTL AF), which are trading between $1.60 and $1.80 per contract. As I have mentioned, this one is more speculative than some of our other plays, but theory is no pain, no gain. Let’s give it a shot now!
PLAY: Buy the MTL January 30 Calls (MTL AF) at market, good for the day.
