Our quick momentum play on Pacific Ethanol (PEIX – NASDAQ) is hitting right on cue. After entering the PEIX November 17.5 Calls (PFQ KW) for $1.15 this morning, they’re now trading between $1.40 and $1.45 per contract, good for a super-quick 21.73% gainer.

As you know, PEIX was a $30 stock a few months ago — and with any momentum stock there is always the notion to hang on a little longer to see how high they can run. But in my book, I’m content taking a gain of 20% in an hour off the table with no regrets. So that’s my advice for this trade:

PLAY: SELL the PEIX November 17.5 Calls (PFQ KW) at or over $1.40, good for the day. Current bid/ask spread is $1.40 to $1.45 per contract.
