Bush Speech Ignites Renewed Interest

Archer-Daniels-Midland (ADM – NYSE), one of the largest ethanol producers in the country, is getting a very strong lift today in anticipation of President Bush’s State of the Union address tonight.

It’s expected the Mr. Bush will call for a sharp escalation in the federal mandate on use of ethanol as a renewable fuel alternative– making ADM’s current price valuation a strong price to establish an upside position.

As you can see, ADM has been stuck in a three-month decline, but tonight’s message could be the catalyst that sparks a new upside rally — as new attention is placed on the key ethanol producers. Based on a continued upside move, let’s immediately add the ADM March 35 Calls (ADM CG) while they’re still trading under $1.00. Here’s the play:

PLAY: Buy the ADM March 35 Calls (ADM CG) at or under $1.10, good for the day. Place a protective stop loss at $0.60.
