Still No Signals

Dear Bottarelli Research Member,

It’s not my intention to be relatively inactive during the trading session, but in all truthfulness, I really don’t think that the market has any clue as to the next directional move. As a result, you see these periods of irrational trading patterns — which are nothing more than small-time amateurs trying to limp into new positions.

Today’s up-move, in my opinion, is based on the hope that some sort of economic solution will come out of London’s G-20 meeting on Thursday. In all honesty, nothing can be further from the truth. From what I’m reading, the world’s leaders are completely and utterly divided on the global economic stimulus package spending efforts, and I can’t imagine any solution being agreed upon over the next few days. Therefore, my best advice is to maintain our ledger and see what transpires going into tomorrow.
