Perhaps this goes against the conventional thinking process, but I’d like to lock in the remaining profits on our IAM Gold September 5 Calls (IAG IA). As you know, we entered these calls on February 2nd for $2.55, and they just hit a high today of $4.10, good for a really nice 60.78% gainer.
Now I admit, IAG has everything moving in their direction. In fact, shares could easily break past $10.00 very soon. But my fear is that everyone right now it talking about gold — and I’ve learned that this often times signals a near-term top. Therefore, gold prices could dip back down going forward which means that the ideal time to lock in profits is now! As you can see below, IAG has had an incredible run, and we can always buy back in on any forthcoming price dips. But for today, let’s take the safe route and lock in our gains!

At the same time, our decision to add to our Teva Pharmaceuticals January 2010 45 Calls (WTX AI) could not have been any better. Despite a horrible market, shares of TEVA have blasted off today, supporting my thesis that biotech and generic drug companies will out-perform the markets here in 2009.
After adding to our calls, we’re now up 20% on this play — and looking to move even higher. Therefore, hold for more gains!
