Like a good neighbor, our friend Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR – NASDAQ) is once again offering us a nice opportunity to make a quick profit. As you know, we’ve repeatedly played GMCR in the past, using intra-day dips and rips to time our entry prices and scalp some very strong returns. As I look at GMCR right now, I think it’s once again time to jump into calls. At current prices around $72.50, I still feel that GMCR wants to make a push up to $75.00 and beyond. Therefore, let’s once again position ourselves for this move using November calls.
NOTE: With October expiration imminent, we’re now forced to move onto the November call series. While the GMCR November calls are more expensive, they also offer us more time, which gives us the flexibility to add to our position if the timing is right. So on that note, here’s the play…
PLAY: Buy the GMCR November 75 Calls (QGM KO) at or under $4.40, good for the day. Place a protective stop limit at $2.70 and a pre-determined sniper sell at $6.60.
At the same time, let’s lock in profits on our HAL November 30 Calls (HZL KF). If you recall, we played these calls in anticipation of a HAL breakout to a new high, which has occurred thus far today. As a result, the calls we entered yesterday for $1.05 just hit $1.30, good for a quick 23% gainer. Lock in these profits now!
